Event Description
Harvest Moon to Shine on Smart-Girl Celebration
Smart-Girl will host Under the Harvest Moon, a community-building and fundraising event, on September 25 in the gardens at the Governor's Mansion from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The celebration, to be held under the rare and beautiful harvest moon that evening, heralds Smart-Girl's ten year anniversary of serving girls.
In ten years, Smart-Girl has helped more than 2,750 girls learn how to make smart choices and become confident, capable, self-reliant young women. Girls who went through the program in middle school are now Smart-Girl Guides, college students and professionals. Smart-Girl helped them see their own self-worth and set goals to strive for.
In addition to celebrating a decade of service to girls, Smart-Girl will honor its Partner of the Year, the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver. Boys & Girls Club President and CEO, John Arigoni, will speak in a short program.
Under the Harvest Moon will rally support for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning for girls and pay homage to women's firsts in space. Overall, the evening is devoted to celebration with live music, drinks, appetizers and lots of great giveaways.
