More than 300 people helped celebrate Colorado's resource conservation efforts at the Center for ReSource Conservation’s 3rd Annual Awards Dinner and Auction held at the Boulder Theater on January 19, 2007.

The evening's agenda started with a silent auction and cocktails. After an amazing dinner by Bay Window Catering, there was an awards presentation for The 2007 ReWard and Our World Award winners, among others.

Following the awards presentation was the live auction, with the popular auctioneer, Don Martin. During the evening’s events, five major awards were presented as follows: The “Energy Conservation ReWard” honors the individual or group of individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to the advancement of the cause, policy and implementation of energy efficient and/or renewable energy in our society. This year, Charlie Richardson was the winner of this award.

The “Waste Reduction ReWard” honors the individual or group of individuals who have advanced the diversion of waste from landfills through re-use, recycling or composting. This year, Folsom St. Coffee was the winner of this award.

The “Water Conservation ReWard” honors the individual or group of individuals who have made advances in the conservation of water resources within our community or throughout the region. This year, Alison Peck was the winner of this award.

The “Community Conservation ReWard” honors the individual or group of individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and creative vision toward the more sustainable future through the principles of conservation and environmental protection. This year, The City of Boulder was the winner of this award.

The “Our World” ReWard is sponsored by the Boulder Rotary Club, the Center for ReSource Conservation and Roche Colorado Corporation, and recognizes significant achievements in conservation or the protection and preservation of the environment by an individual or non-profit organization from Boulder County. This year, this prestigious award was presented to Eco-Cycle’s Boulder/Broomfield County School Recycling and Environmental Education Program.

Don Martin was the hit of the evening during the live auction. Some of the items auctioned off included a Metlund On Demand system (donated by Direct Drive Service), a Fat Tire Bike from New Belgium Brewery, A Glider Ride above the Flatirons, a Schwinn Double Jogger Stroller, an iPod Nano preloaded with every version of KBCO’s Studio C Volumes and a Heart Scan Certificate. This year's hottest auctions items included a six-night stay in a beach home in Great Exuma, Bahamas which sold for $6,400. The largest item auctioned off was a 2kW photovoltaic system donated by Namaste Solar Electric, which fetched a whopping $19,500.

The CRC is a 501c3 non-profit located in downtown Boulder, CO. The CRC is staffed by committed environmental professionals whose expertise ranges from representing Boulder in the Colorado Legislature to the foremost expertise in backyard composting. Over $40,000 was raised during the live auction with 100% of the proceeds going to the CRC.
