They came, they saw, they bid.
More than 300 ArtReach friends supporters helped kick off the holiday season Nov. 17 by snapping up more than 150 uniquely decorated holiday trees, wreaths, swags, centerpieces and baskets.
The event was the Festival of Trees 2001 Winter Gala. Now in its 23rd year, the festival is one of Denver's favorite holiday traditions.
The holiday items are decorated and donated by leading designers and artists, and then sold at silent auction.
This year's raffle prize was a beautifully decorated six-foot tree along with two round-trip tickets from Frontier Airlines to New York City and three nights' luxury accommodations, plus a Broadway show.
ArtReach is a Colorado nonprofit arts and human services organization dedicated to changing lives through the arts. Working with more than 200 agencies, ArtReach last year provided free tickets to major cultural and art events to 77,000 individuals with disabilities and economic needs.
