Do you ever think about the motions your body goes through when you walk, bend, kneel or even sit down? Probably not. Well Saturday night, there were a number of people who do not take this motion for granted, and helping these people was what it was all about, as the Walk of Dreams Gala unfolded.
There are the many volunteers who put together the third annual Walk of Dreams Gala benefiting Operation Walk Denver. The auction room of the Grand Hyatt Denver looked like it was getting ready for operations on individuals, as there were numerous instruments up for bid to help people move around again. There were also sports packages, trips and even a brand new Moped.
The people that attended either were afflicted with a problem that prohibited them to move around with ease, or knew someone that was in need of an operation or had been through one. The Grand Hyatt Denver had turned the 2nd floor into a beautiful place for all the festivities that took place for the evening and helped make the event a success.
Upon entering the ballroom for dinner, guests were greeted by Dancers from Unleash Dance Studio. After a wonderful dinner, attendees were treated to some fantastic Latin American Dancing. It was beautiful. With the help and support of all the volunteers and the many auction items, the night raised over $50,000.
But as always, this could not be accomplished without the help and support of all involved. And if you are interested in finding out more information on how you could help with next year's event or even help out year-round, please contact the members of Operation Walk Denver at 303-715-7600 or check out the website at http://www.rmahf.org. The more help and support they receive, the more this wonderful organization is able to help the individuals who need the operations to rebuild their lives so they too can walk, bend, sit or kneel without the pain that many of us don't experience.
