One of fall's "fabest" yearly fetes' in the Mile High City is the Fantasy Ball benefiting The Adoption Exchange. This year's theme was "Western" with guests dressed up in their finest duds, all towards the goal of providing children who are waiting with loving homes.

Known for having one of the best silent and live auctions in town, the 21st Fantasy Ball delivered with some early holiday shopping items such as Guitar Hero, Wii, a pastel/acrylic piece by artist, Carrie Fell, a Jay Cutler autographed football - and $100 gift certificates to great restaurants such as Elway's and The Capital Grille.  The live auction also proved to be first rate with items such as a bracelet from Oster Jewelers, a foursome of golf at Sanctuary Golf Course, a Montana fly-fishing trip and a wine cellar with a collection of more than 30 bottles of quality wine.

Ed Adams was honored with The Adoption Exchange's highest honor, "The Wednesday's Child Award."  Mr. Adams became involved with The Adoption Exchange in 1991 when his company, Professional Travel Corporation, began looking for a charity to support with the proceeds from a golf tournament.  The Adoption Exchange was chosen as that charity.  Seventeen years later, The Adoption Exchange still enjoys this honor, and the golf tournament has raised more than $1.8 million for programs and services for children and families through these annual golf events.  The beautiful Janssen Family, an adoptive family, presented the prestigious award to Mr. Adams.

Guests spent the evening dancing to music by the nine-time Grammy winning Kings of Texas Swing - "Asleep at the Wheel."  Catering for the evening was tastefully prepared by Gold Sponsor - Epicurean Catering.

The Adoption Exchange opened its doors in 1983 with a goal of helping place 25 children a year.  Thanks to the love, support and encouragement of caring individuals, they are now celebrating their 25th year and the adoptions of more than 5,300 children.

Funds raised at "The Fantasy Ball" are used for the recruitment of families for children who are waiting to be adopted into loving homes.  More than 129,000 children across the country are waiting to be adopted, living in a series of foster and group homes for an average of four years, hoping for the stability and love of a permanent family.
