No one in Denver knows how to throw a party quite like 5280 magazine.  The Friday-night fete hosted Denver's hottest singles to benefit Volunteers of America.  The soul mate search was on, and if you didn't find a date, you at least had the chance to flirt and find your favorite flavor martini.

Denver celebs in attendance included former first lady of Colorado and Executive VP for Community Affairs at Galloway Group, Frances Owens,  Colorado Avalanche forward Wojtek Wolski’s, Colorado Rapids defender Stephen Keel, actor and dancer at the DCPA, Laurence Curry and ABC News Anchor Jane Slater.  Blacktie member, Eric Trujillo of CultureHaus was also on 5280's list of top singles in Denver.

Bachelors and bachelorettes flowed from the flirt room to the dance floor then cruised by the candy bar of hot tamales in the desire room.  VIP ticket holders enjoyed open bar and everyone enjoyed the evening.

The only thing better than partying into the night is when it is for a good cause. Volunteers of America has been providing meals, shelter and support for women and children for over 100 years. Volunteers of America has a variety of projects to complete, even in this economy. They include Meals-On-Wheels, Head Start programs, the Brandon Center shelter for women and children, Rainbow House daycare center for children with special needs and Sunset Park Senior Center. They have branches in Southwest Colorado, Northern Colorado and the Denver metro area. If you would like to assist members of your community with nutrition services, residential youth and emergency services, home health services or nursing home care, visit www.voacolorado.org or call Jim White at 303-297-0408 for additional information.

This is not an event to miss, so even if you found your special someone this year, mark your calendar for 2010, after all, you don't have to be single to mingle.
