Boulder is now home to the newest Goodwill Industries of Denver retail store and donation center. On Thursday June 12, Goodwill hosted a VIP Preview of the new store located at Baseline and Broadway in Boulder, which opened on Saturday.  This large, bright store, which is full of recycled treasures, has a variety of departments, from electronics to children's wear.  Dressing rooms are available for trying on clothing and there is an outdoor patio area, which will be home to barbecues, lawn mowers and other outdoor items.

Goodwill also highlighted its social and environmental missions with displays prominently featuring its program participants. Each year Goodwill recycles over 55 million pounds of used clothing and household items. Goodwill Industries of Denver also works with at-risk youth, struggling families, and individuals with disabilities, helping them work toward successful futures.

The evening began with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, while guests listened to the music of guitarist Michael Lancaster and mingled with the Goodwill executives and employees.  This newest store has 38 employees from the Boulder community.

Ric Berninzoni, VP of Retail Operations spoke to the crowd about the mission of Goodwill and how excited they were to finally have a Boulder location.  The Boulder store manager Lena Garcia cut the ribbon to the cheers of the crowd.

Then it was time to shop!  Guests filled up carts of clothes and household goods at amazing prices and the cashiers were eager to ring up their first sales. The Showcase, which houses jewelry, purses and small accessories proved to be very popular.

This new store will prove very popular with Boulder shoppers looking for great value.  It is also a convenient location for those looking create some space in their homes by donating to Goodwill so that their items can be recycled and put to good use. Come and visit the store. For more information about Goodwill Industries of Denver, check out the website at
