Every fashionable girl knows the importance of the Little Black Dress, and who better to plan a party around the LBD than the organization known worldwide as the group that promotes careers in fashion--Fashion Group International (FGI).
FGI supporters were treated to a delectable lunch and fashion show at Baur's Ristorante on Sunday as patrons donned their best LBD or their own independent fashion statement. Home Shopping Network star Carolyn Strauss was a marvelous emcee, and honored guest was SW District Director and FGI Entrepreneur of the Year Susanne Taylor, in from Dallas.
Several acknowledgments were given to supporters, past directors and fashion icons, including the Post's Suzanne Brown, Lauren Vitalie, Holli Gibson (Rising Star Award winner), Carol Enright and Peggy Ziglin. Co-chairs Nathalia Faribault, Rachel Lefort, Jan Top and Tommy Collier were also acknowledged for their work on this fabulous event, as was organizer extraordinaire Scottie Taylor Iverson ("I know there are five Scotties somewhere, not just one, from all she can accomplish," said Susanne Taylor). And who better to win the award for the best Little Black Dress for the day: Arlene Mohler Johnson.
Models took the runway to showcase fashions from Barbara & Company, Oster Watch and Jewelry Boutique, Beijo, Outlets of Colorado, D'Lola Couture, Soignee, Dan Sharp Luxury Outerwear, St. John, Delish Demure, Twice as Haute, Etcetera, Tracey Lynn, Goldyn and Valley Country Club, and after fashionistas were done drooling at the gorgeous offerings they were set loose after the show to purchase items that caught their eye.
Baur's was a wonderful venue, providing a sultry ambience, with owner Jimmy Lambatos proudly telling the story of how he resurrected the famous restaurant three years ago and restored it full circle to its proud reputation that began in this spot in 1958.
