The University of Colorado Hospital Foundation (UCHF) once again provided families an enjoyable way to spend Valentine’s Day while also giving back to their community hospital at the 4th annual "Hearts of All Ages" event. The proceeds from the 2011 “Hearts of All Ages” event go toward advancing the legacy of excellence of the University of Colorado Hospital’s Transplant Center. The program is nationally recognized for its collaborative environment, advanced practices and patient outcomes that are better than the national average.
“Hearts of All Ages,” is a family event that takes place on Valentine’s Day each year. 2011 marks the fourth consecutive year that the Foundation has celebrated with the community, giving families a chance to spend Valentine’s Day together while raising money for various programs at University of Colorado Hospital. “Hearts of All Ages” 2011 not only raised money for the transplant program, it also raised awareness of the increasing need for organ donations.
Highlights of the event included kid-friendly food, with an opportunity for kids to make their own pizza and experience tossing dough just like a real pizziola. Live music and dancing took place all evening. Guests were also able to take a test flight in a flight simulator computer lab, get henna tattoos, have a humorous portrait of themselves drawn by caricature artists, bid on exciting items in a silent auction and have their photos taken with Thunder, the Denver Broncos mascot.
