The 7th annual St. Patrick's Day Green Tie Event was a evening of gratitude, promise, and hope as Metro Community Provider Network looked to the future.  The gala event was held at the Seawell Grand Ballroom in Denver.  CBS4 morning news anchor Michelle Griego emceed the event.  Guests were first treated to a spectacular dance performance by Strictly Irish, Denver's only professional Irish dance troupe.  Strictly Irish features former principle dancers of both Riverdance and Lord of the Dance, along with 2010 All Ireland and 2009 North American Champions.

Following Strictly Irish's exhilarating performance, dinner was provided by Epicurean Catering.  The menu of baby spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette, Italian Chicken Roulade, and dessert of white chocolate moon pie was delectable.  The evening's beer and wines were generously donated by Diageo Guinness Product and Chris Bates of Purple Wines.

MCPN also recognized that it is imperative that those of us in the community need to stand together and help in every way we can.  In recognition of those efforts, Carol Quinn received the award for Community Volunteer of the Year, Dr. Joseph Kay was awarded Volunteer Physician of the Year, King Soopers was awarded Community Partner of the Year, Universal Styles, Inc., was awarded Community Business of the Year, and Tristan Johnson was awarded MCPN Staff Member of the Year.

The evening's performances were capped off with the Bridies and Brian Kennedy.  The explosive and stunning Bridies are fronted by the lead fiddle soloists from Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and Celtic Tiger. The unique and high energy performance of Michelle Mulhaire, Eilis Egan, Brenda Curtin and Maire Egan, joined by Brendan Hayes is Celtic music like you've never heard before.  Brian Kennedy is one of Ireland's best loved musicians.  A natural singer, writer and guitarist, he has performed with Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles and John Lee Hooker.

MCPN is a non-profit federally qualified health center.  MCPN was established in 1989 in response to the primary health care needs of the medically indigent population in metro Denver.  With a service area larger than the state of Delaware and a population base of over 1.1 million, MCPN strives to serve the needs of the largest group of underserved individuals in Colorado.  The goal of MCPN is to break down the barriers that limit access to care and to build a healthier community.
