It was a beautiful day at Arrowhead Golf Club and the weather matched the sunny disposition of the players. Benefiting Colorado Neurological Institute, the CNI Open is a major source of support in the annual golf tournament.
During the 2010 tournament, CNI netted $32,000, funds which go to the organization which is home to the largest and most comprehensive neuroscience center in the Rocky Mountain Region. The membership organization has over 50 physicians and neuroscientists and is located on the campus of Swedish Medical Center.
Research of Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, Tourette’s syndrome, migraines, stroke, epilepsy, hearing disorders, brain tumors, and neuromuscular disorders all fall under CNI research. Emphasis in patient care, research, education, and outreach make CNI a unique program and respected organization in the Mile High City.
Patrick Maylee thanked golfers and patrons while announcing the winning teams. For the second consecutive year, the team comprised of Mark Williamson, Dennis Sputh, Jack Alexander, and Jim Alexander took home the title. Other title winners included Allen Finley, on Hole 18 for Men’s Longest Putt; Ron Carboff on Hole 9 for Men’s Closest to the Hole; Kellen Webber on Hole 2 for Men’s longest Drive; Maggie Rose on Hole 8 for Women’s Longest Drive; Mary Jenks on Hole 13 for Women’s Closest to the Hole; and Stephanie Meany on Hole 6 for Women’s Longest Putt.
