FACES held it’s annual “Grapes against Wrath” fundraising event on Thursday, September 22, 2011. The event was held at the beautiful Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality management at the University of Denver.
The event hosted sponsors from some of Denver’s finest restaurants, including: Linger, Elway’s Cherry Creek, Lola’s, Fruition and The Vineyard Wine Shop. These restaurants prepared delicious samples of their cuisine and elegantly plated them for guests to enjoy. The guests were also treated to quaint wine displays with the wine generously provided and served by The Vineyard Wine Shop. While enjoying these treats, the guests browsed the silent auction, which included items from a crystal ball to an autographed John Elway cap.
There was also a great food demonstration given by Executive Chef, Keegan Gerhard. Chef Gerhard is an award winning pastry chef and the former host of the Food Network series "Food Network Challenge." He is also the owner and Executive Chef of D-Bar Desserts in Denver.

Visits are conducted weekly or bi-weekly (as the intensity of need diminishes). The length of service (which can range from three to eighteen months) is tailored to each family’s needs. Counselors also assist parents in accessing community health care and social services, housing opportunities, childcare, and other circles of support within their community.
