"There is no better medicine than laughter." Dr. Ross Wilkins
The Limb Preservation Foundation understands the benefits of laughter, and through their 2nd annual Laughs to Save Limbs and Lives benefit, they have accomplished raising much needed funds for those with limb- threatening conditions by hosting a night of laughter.
The event was held at the beautiful historic Paramount Theater and featured an unforgettable evening of laugh out loud comedians, delicious food and spectacular auctions. All funds raise go to support the mission of The Limb Preservation Foundation to enhance the quality of life for individuals facing limb-threatening diseases due to trauma, tumor or infection.
Comedy was provided by three local acts, including local Dan McGowan. McGowan was featured on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing."
Denver’s finest restaurants including Mount Vernon Country Club, Jax, Avenue Grill, Pappadeaux, Famous Dave’s, Bayou Bobs and Marlowe’s provided the cuisine for the evening.
Established in 1986, The Limb Preservation Foundation supports the prevention and treatment of limb-threatening conditions regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. The nonprofit foundation raises funds to support patient assistance, education, college scholarships and research programs, working to enhance the quality of life for individuals experiencing limb-threatening conditions such as cancer, severe extremity infections or trauma. By driving and funding innovative research, The foundation is creating new hope for patients, through its partnership with programs such as the Colorado State University Animal Cancer Center, where new osteosarcoma protocols were developed, directly resulting in an increased survival rate of pediatric limb cancer patients.
