DENVER -- Supporters of Pink & Blue United filled the Ritz-Carlton ballroom Saturday evening for the second-annual end-of-summer soiree.

Attendees arrived in vintage attire and experienced a "red carpet" as Frank Sinatra sang to them during an extensive live auction and cocktail hour, part of the "A Swingin' Affair" theme.

After dinner and a few testimonials, the crowd of about 150 watched and listened to entertainment by Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe. A live auction generated several four-figure bids, and the night ended with a couple of hours of dancing.

Admission cost $100 per person or $170 per couple, but a few dozen people also made cash donations. Dozens more contributed money through the auction items.

Proceeds will benefit Pink & Blue, a non-profit foundation which aims to provide real-time financial support for individuals and families dealing with breast, prostate, ovarian and testicular cancer.

Pink & Blue takes care to divide money equally between gender-specific cancers afflicting men and women. Much of their financial support focuses on living expenses andd fertility preservation.
