Honorary Chair Kim Christiansen from 9News was eager to welcome guests and sing along to Greg and Steve with her son Tanner. Director of Fundraising and PR for DCEF, Linda Pelo, gave a special thanks to all of the generous sponsors before handing the microphone over the enthusiastic duo of Greg and Steve.
The four-day concert series, featuring Greg and Steve Live, sold over 11,000 tickets for the Douglas County Educational Foundation. Kids and teachers alike sang the “ABC Rock”, did the twist, chicken dance and even “went on a bear hunt” while singing and dancing together. This interactive concert presented by Greg and Steve has become a favorite for children across the country. Greg and Steve present educational and motivating music to kids in an entertaining and humorous way. They have received several awards including 7 “Parents Choice Awards” and from the energy in Cherry Hills Community Church there is no question as to why. Fast and slow songs captured the children’s attention while the playful humor entertained the adults.
All of the money raised from the four days of Greg and Steve Live will be used by the Douglas County Educational Foundation to enrich educational programs in Douglas County Schools. The Foundation was started in 1990 and has since raised over $375,000 to provide quality education and increase positive programs for students in Douglas County.
The success of the Greg and Steve Live Concerts is a small glimpse of the success the Douglas County Educational Foundation is using to expand positive educational experiences for students.
