By Blacktie Staff A wild mix of techno music, champagne, illusionists, break dancers, can-can girls and light shows entertained Denver's A-list at magazine maven Terry Vitale's second annual ICON awards. Like last year, the event was fast-paced and fun for this hard-to-impress party crowd. Members of the ISES, the International Special Events Society, came out in force to help make the ICON party a primo professional event. Individuals and businesses that produce Denver's biggest private and professional parties are recognized for their work. This year's ICON winners included the Denver Zoo's Zip-A-De-Do-Da event, best nonprofit event; Faye Gardenschwartz, best overall event, for Cindy Farber's birthday; Epicurean Catering and WonderWorks Photography, also for the Farber birthday; and Sandy Tannenbaum of Occasions by Sandy for William Fogler's 30th birthday party. Each ticket holder designated a charity to receive part of the evening's proceeds. The Cancer League won a drawing to receive $25 from each ticket sold.
