This silver Volvo XC car was donated by Colorado Volvo Retailer and raffled off at the end of the evening Dr. Michael and Lyn Schaffer, left, and Wanda Castleman. Dr. Schaffer is with Children's Hospital and Wanda is with the Special Events office. Kirk McDonald, President and CEO of the Denver Newspaper Agency Becca Lockler took the mike and sang, "You are my Sunshine." Kelly Ripa told the audience that she would not be surprised if one day we all will be watching "Live with Regis and Becca" on TV!
Kelly Ripa told Derrick Ross, the elder statesman of the Ambassadors, that he looked very handsome in his tux, "You won't have any problem finding a date for the prom when the time comes around!" She contiuned on, "Are you into older, wealthy women? Would you go out with me?" He hesitated a moment and then, unflustered answered, "Uh, sorry, no." Leah Rishavy and her family traveled from Colorado Springs to see Kelly Ripa and to be part of the gala. Leah shares her artistic talents with the Cancer Center by designing holiday cards for the program. Sam Horacek told the audience about his love of camping and fishing Emily Frevert, or "Ms. Emily, as Kelly affectionately called her," was born with a hole in her heart that eventually required a trip to Children's Hospital. She loves to dance and showed off a few twirls for Kelly and the guests.
Conner White is a fighter and has been battling back from brain surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. He looooooves hockey and brought his puck, autographed by his favorite player, Joe Sakic. "Can you also sign it?" Conner asked Kelly. Jared Sughrove described the picture that he had drawn of the new Children's Hospital at Fitzsomns. It is of a rainbow with a door. "The rainbow gives people hope." David Stewart spun the raffle drum and drew the winning ticket for the Silver Volvo XC, donated by Colorado Volvo Retailers Becca Lockler was the first one on the dance floor

David Stewart twisted the night away Brian Setzer and his Orchestra took to the stage, belting out well-known hits "Stray Cat Strut" and "Jump, Jive and Wail,” by Louis Prima
